Monday Night Football logoThe circus that this is the Washington Redskins gets the national spotlight on Monday as they host the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football (8:35 p.m. ET, ESPN).

The Redskins took away the play calling from head coach Jim Zorn this past week and gave the duties to Sherm Lewis who was out of football just a few weeks ago. What happens with the Redskins next is anyone’s guess, although it appears head coach Jim Zorn’s job is safe.

Philadelphia is a 7.5 point favorite and the total is set at 37 at SBG Global.

Washington has scored 17 points or less in every game this season. They have the 29th ranked offense in the league. Part of the problem has been quarterback Jason Campbell but he is getting the start again this week. The Redskins have just two offensive threats in running back Clinton Portis and tight end Chris Cooley.

Philadelphia comes into Monday’s game after last week’s shocking loss at Oakland. The Eagles continue to disappoint but haven’t gotten much attention heading into this NFL betting week with the Washington mess.

Quarterback Donovan McNabb didn’t play well last week but he was not alone. The offensive line was terrible and the defense was weak. It may not get much better considering the team placed linebacker Omar Gaither on season-ending injured reserve this week.

Washington leads the all-time series 77-65-5 against the Eagles including a sweep last season. Washington won 23-17 on the road and won at home by a score of 10-3 last year.

Here are the NFL betting stats for Monday’s game:

The Eagles are 5-1 ATS in their last six Monday games. The Eagles are 13-6 ATS in their last 19 road games. The Eagles are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five meetings in Washington.

The Redskins are 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 games in October. The Redskins are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games as a home underdog. The Redskins are 1-8 ATS in their last nine home games.

The over is 5-1 in the Eagles’ last six games overall. The under is 13-6-3 in the Eagles’ last 22 Monday games. The under is 4-0 in the Redskins’ last four Monday games. The under is 4-1-2 in the Redskins’ last seven games as a home underdog.
